Rice Baby Grows Up

When I was pregnant with Logan I would get weekly email updates letting me know about the weeks  developments and comparing the size of the baby to some sort of food item, usually a vegetable or fruit. One of the first emails told me that the baby was the size of a grain of rice and after our very first ultrasound, when we heard his heartbeat for the very first time, I sent a text to my best friends asking them to think good thoughts for the "rice baby". This little nickname stuck around for the better part of my pregnancy, with Jo, Katie and Erika all referring to Logan as the rice baby. Fast forward 15 months and Logan's first nickname inspired his first halloween costume.....a sushi roll! Believe it or not, not a costume found in stores so I decided to wing it and make (most of) it myself. Despite a less than perfect costume, he was the cutest sushi roll I've ever seen!

We had fun celebrating Halloween with our family out at Great Grandma's on Saturday. Logan's (great!) Aunt Jan decorated the basement for Logan and the girls and played the classic "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown". Although Logan was too young to fully partake in all the festivities, it was so sweet to see him spend time with his cousins and be a part of the fun. It was a nice reminder of what a lucky little guy he is, to be able to grow up surrounded by so many people who love him.

All this kid needs is an empty cup for a good time....

Too much fun.....
