Babymoon!

Trev and I spent last weekend up in Seattle for a short little "babymoon". Trevor had read somewhere about couples taking trips before having a baby to have some time to celebrate being pregnant and to enjoy some time alone before life changes dramatically. With basketball season starting this week, last weekend seemed like the perfect time to take a few days off and relax before life gets pretty busy.

We had such a great time! We stayed at the Hilton downtown thanks to Trevor's dad Dave and had a great time walking around downtown and through Pike Place market and eating lots of yummy food! The Chocolate Box is one of the places that I always want to visit when I am in Seattle. Jered introduced me to their frozen hot chocolate a few summers ago and it was one of the places we had to visit on Saturday. Once again, it did not disappoint! I was almost able to rationalize going back for a second one the next day (considering all the walking we did on Saturday....) but I was able to control myself and limit my intake to only one during the weekend. We also spent some time checking out a few baby stores in the area. We bought a few books at a cute shop called Tottini and finished the day at University Village. I had never been to the University Village before and I thought it was great! There were a ton of fun shops and I'm sure it will be another place that I visit next time I'm in Seattle. I could have spent hours and hours there but with the kick off of the duck game quickly approaching we decided to head back to downtown to get dinner and watch the game. A friend of Trevor's recommended Serious Pie so we decided to try it for dinner. The wait can be up to 2 hours for dinner so we decided to order ours to go and had a great dinner back in our hotel room so that we could watch the UO game.  If you are ever in Seattle I HIGHLY recommend checking Serious Pie out....it was great! (Wish I could say the same for the football game...but a win is a win I guess!) We had breakfast with some friends on Sunday morning before hitting Top Pot on our way out of town. I'm realizing as I write this that it sounds like all we did was eat while we there...maybe that's why I had such a great time!

All in all we had a great time on out little getaway and I am secretly hoping we'll have the chance to take one more weekend getaway before the baby gets here....any suggestions?

22 weeks?

How Far Along: 22 Weeks...maybe? Our doctor (kind of) moved up our due date so we jumped from 22 weeks to 23 weeks this week. I personally was finding it hard enough to keep track of weeks as it was, so switching things up on me just seems unfair. I have decided that I am just going to keep going as if the due date was never moved up so in my mind I am 22 weeks this week. Our follow up appointment is the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and they will confirm at that point if we do in fact have a baby that is large and in charge but until then, I am sticking with the original count-22 weeks.
Size of baby: Spaghetti Squash, well the length of one anyway. Imagine my surprise when I came home and asked Trevor what the large "thing" on our counter was...it was the largest spaghetti squash ever! I am already having issues about fearing that our baby is going to be insanely large so when I saw it sitting on the counter, needless to say, I was alarmed. Apparently there is a large variance in squash size which makes me feel somewhat better. He should only be about 11 inches this week-whew!

Gender: Boy!
Movement: I seem to feel him move the most in the evening. Trevor felt him move for the first time tonight which was really special for both of us.
What I miss: Nothing
Cravings: Fruit (still) and apple juice
Pregnancy Symptoms: Heartburn, some aches and pains every once in a while-nothing too bad really
Best Moment this week: Spending the weekend in Eugene and having Katie finally  "meet" the baby!

It's a......

We had such a great time this weekend sharing the news that we are expecting a little boy! We had a party at Trevor's parents house and shared the news by having our mom's cut into a (very) blue cake. It was a fun way to celebrate the exciting news. It was quite the high-tech adventure with one computer for Jered and Lisha who were viewing the party from Seattle through Google chat and another computer with Esther and girls who were viewing from home. We also had two iPhones on speaker for Katie and Erika to join in on the fun! Needless to say, set-up took a while! Here are a few pictures from the party.......

The winning team...Team Boy!

At our ultrasound on Thursday we not only found out that we having a boy, but right now, we will be having a BIG boy! He's measuring over a week ahead of schedule which means the doctor may move our due date up. They want to keep an eye on a few measurements that they took so we are planning to go in again in a few weeks for another look at things. The doctor reassured us that everything looked great but I am still feeling a little bit anxious about the fact that they want us to come back in. Thankfully Trevor is here to be the voice of reason and remind me that I should be excited that we have the chance to see the baby again rather than wasting time being anxious about something that is out of our control.
We would definitely appreciate prayers for peace for us and for the health for the baby between now and our next appointment-waiting is hard! I know, I know, this is a lesson I should have learned already but apparently it still hasn't fully sunk in....
